Goodbye Ogilvy, hello Windsor Road

New ReleaseLong time no post, but I’ve been super busy organising myself for a spell of independence. Yes, I’ve left Ogilvy and as of yesterday New Release is more than just a place for personal rants and musings.

I’m setting up a CC and will be trading under the name of this blog (provided its available – still waiting to hear). Right now I’m working from my lounge in Kalk Bay, which is awesome so far I have to say. I’m cycling every day, and am probably gonna do some training with Justin Berry who owns Bike Haven down the road (and who tells me he wants to “go pro again” – jesus h).

I’ll see how I do on the productivity front, but I’m feeling confident so far. Depending on how much I can get done here, I’ll either maintain my office in Kalk Bay, or move to town with my friend James Mentz of Tenacity Works. James just hooked up some sweet new office space off Adderley Street.

Ogilvy has been a great experience full of super-talented people. I’ll definitely miss the environment, but the opportunities for me in terms of both client and personal projects are too big to pass up, and I definitely feel very strongly that now is the time to be taking advantage of them.

On that note I should mention that my buddy Neil Garb, who followed me out of Go2Africa and into OI, has once again left the building on the same day as me. He’ll be heading up development at Zoopy where I know he is gonna kick some serious Zend Framework ass.
